A soprano and voice educator pursuing classical voice performance studies at the Elder Conservatorium of Music.

Yishan (Teresa) Chen is a soprano currently pursuing a Master of Music in Performance Studies in Classical Voice at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, Adelaide University. She previously completed a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance at South China Normal University.

Yishan has performed in a variety of operatic and concert settings. Her recent performances include Bellini's Norma with State Opera South Australia, the Act IV Finale of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro as part of Big Sing at the Opera 2025, and solo and ensemble performances in the Elder Conservatorium's student concerts.

She is also a member of Recitals Australia's Fellowship Program 2026-2027.

In recognition of her artistic and academic achievements, Yishan was awarded the George Boland Scholarship, the Frederick Bevan Prize for Singing, and the Robert Whinham Prize by Adelaide University in 2026.

Alongside her performance career, Yishan is passionate about music education. She provides private voice lessons and AMEB music theory instruction, designing personalised learning plans to develop students' vocal technique, musicianship, and confidence.
